HOW WE WORK

Context first. No mind-reading.

One lesson, one communication task

Each lesson starts with a usable answer and the condition that makes it appropriate. An original exchange gives it context. Reply comparisons explain what changes, and short practice questions provide visible explanations. Core text is available without JavaScript.

Examples, not real conversations

Names, messages, locations and dialogue are teaching simulations. We do not publish customer orders or ask you to upload private chats. The delivery diagram is not a real map, and the site is not connected to WeChat or a delivery service.

Interpretation has limits

A short message cannot establish another person’s intentions. Lessons distinguish literal meaning, plausible interpretations and questions that might clarify a plan. They do not describe all Chinese speakers as behaving the same way or guarantee that a phrase will prevent disagreement.

Current review status · 13 October 2026

Initial Chinese, pinyin and English text has been assembled with AI assistance. Technical checks cover generated links, assets and page structure. Independent teacher review, English-language review and testing with real learners have not been completed. No claim of certified teaching quality or measured learning outcomes is made.

Pinyin and audio

Pinyin uses dictionary tone marks rather than a phonetic transcript of all tone changes in connected speech. Selected original lesson lines are synthesised locally with MeloTTS-Chinese (MIT-licensed model), using sherpa-onnx (Apache-2.0 runtime). They are synthetic speech, not a teacher recording, a cloned personal voice or a real conversation. The practice call uses one voice for both roles, with pauses between turns. It is a practice example, not evidence that you can understand fast, accented or noisy calls. The slower option changes browser playback speed; it is not a separate recording. Independent listening and teacher review are not complete. Sources, licenses and limitations.

Corrections and updates

Substantive changes should update the lesson’s date. A date does not mean the lesson was independently reviewed. A working public correction channel has not yet been set up; please see the contact page for its current status.
