今晚一起吃饭吗?

Jīnwǎn yīqǐ chīfàn ma?

Dinner together tonight?

今天有点忙,改天吧。

Jīntiān yǒudiǎn máng, gǎitiān ba.

A little busy today. Another day?

“Another day” is not a date. Want to make a plan?

Choose your next line.

See the explanation

Both replies can work. One asks for a day; the other leaves timing open. The phrase alone cannot tell you whether your friend intends to reschedule.

好啊,你哪天方便? — ✓ You ask what day works for them. It turns an open suggestion into a question about a date.

好,你先忙,有空再约。 — ✓ You leave it open without setting a date. Natural too—if that is what you want.

START WITH WHAT HAPPENED

Three situations. A useful next step.

Use a reply now, or slow down
and practise the conversation.

A PHRASE IS ONLY THE START

Not just a translation.
A conversation you can follow.

First, a short reply with its limits. Then the original dialogue, different choices and what might happen next. Practise if you want; the answers are never locked.

How these lessons are put together →
  1. 01

    Use it now

Find a line you can say or copy—and when it fits.

  2. 02

    Understand the context

See what is known, what is possible and what to ask.

  3. 03

    Try the next turn

Compare responses with feedback, not a mysterious score.

A small, honest starting point. Three original lessons include selected synthetic audio. Independent language and listening review are not yet complete. This is a pilot, not a complete Mandarin course.
